Many people in sub-Saharan Africa (25% to 77.3%) use artificial depigmentation to lighten the natural hue of their skin due to sociological pressures or to solve a dermatological problem.
In Benin, this practice relies on the use for several years of medication or masterful preparations with high lightening potential diverted from their medical indications, counterfeit drugs of illicit lightening products due in particular to their presence in their composition of corticoids, hydroquinones, or even mercurial derivatives. All layers of society are concerned, but more concentrated among young women, aged between 20 and 40 years of all denominations.

A few words about your competitor
There are products on the market that seem to currently satisfy the need identified. These are argan oil, olive oil, coconut oil and some soaps. But the high cost of these products and the specific need for effective and definitive reconstitution of melanin always remains a major problem for this category of customers
Most of these oils are imported, and they are prone to counterfeiting and cost too expensive (over 160 products, 30% were not compliant with cosmetics regulations in 2009 and 40% in 2010). This means that users do not necessarily meet their needs.
