Why you should give Brawl stars a try

Why is this one game always causing so much noise, and why should we get into it? Releasing back in 2012, Brawl stars is a hero battle arena where you and a few more players participate in various fun modes of gameplay. Developed by Supercell, the creators of Clash of Clans and many other bangers. So in today’s article, let’s dive as to what makes this game so appealing.

Before we begin, I know you’re champing at the bit to get into this game. Unfortunately, if Brawl stars has a downside, it is its slow start and hard to earn characters. If you want to make this process go faster or just outright skip it, I would highly recommend getting some Brawl Stars accounts to get to the fun faster!

Free to play

Brawl Stars is absolutely free to download and play, with some in game purchases in the shape of gems, skins, and a battle pass. You don’t really need to spend money to have fun, and it’s not pay to win either, which leaves everyone pretty much happy about their experience. Players can unlock brawlers just by playing the game, and you’ll only get wins if you play well!

Gameplay loop

With matches that last around 3 minutes in most game modes. Players are able to get in and get out of the game quickly, squeezing a match in while you’re free is easy and painless thanks to how straightforward it is. The current game modes are:

  • Gem Grab: in this team based 3v3 mode, you’re racing against the other team to get 10 gems, either from the gem mine in the middle of the map or by eliminating other players and taking theirs.
  • Heist: another 3v3 game mode in which both teams have a safe and their objective is busting open the enemy team’s before they get to your safe.
  • Bounty: 3v3 mode in which every time you eliminate an enemy you get a star and the first team to get to 20 wins. Careful though, if you get eliminated, your stars you collected will be given to the enemy that defeated you!
  • Brawl Ball: 3v3 get the ball to the enemy team goal. The first one to score twice wins, or just whoever has the most points by the time the timer reaches zero.
  • Brawl ball 5v5: Same as the normal brawl ball but with more players!
  • Solo Showdown: In this mode, it’s you against 9 other players or bots, and you only have one life.
  • Duo Showdown: similar to the previous mode but in this one you have a teammate and will be able to respawn if your teammate is still in the game.
  • Hot Zone: this 3v3 mode will have you competing against another team to capture zones that appear randomly on the map, and whoever has the most capture completion by the time the timer reaches zero wins.
  • Knockout: 3v3 fight in 3 rounds in a map that has poison gas around it and slowly taking over the map, shrinking the playable area. When you’re eliminated, you’re out for the rest of the round, so be careful!
  • Duels: Each player will pick 3 brawlers and duke it out in a 3 round match to see who’s eliminated first.
  • Wipeout: Eliminating opponents grants points, and the first team to reach 10 points wins.
  • Wipeout 5v5: Same as the normal Wipeout but with more players!

Additionally, there’s the map maker tool where you can tinker with the game assets and submit maps to play with your friends and even become featured if the map gets enough votes. If it does well enough, it can be added to the rotation of maps and you’ll be awarded gems!

As you can see there are a lot of game modes to choose from and some are even added in events so keep a look-out.

Casual and competitive

Brawl Stars has a surprisingly competitive space. With its own esports tournaments and a ranked game mode, maybe you’ll be intimidated when it comes time to try the game out yourself. Don’t worry though because the game is very welcoming to new players. When you first boot up the game you’ll be playing against bots for a short while and a very well-adjusted matchmaking mechanic will pair you up with players that have similar skill to you. And on the flip side, if you’re into the challenge, dive into the ranked mode head on and face off against the best of the best in a random game mode with random modifiers on.

Brawl pass and events

This game, like many of its kind, has a seasonal battle pass style content called “Brawl pass” in it, you’ll have two tracks, the premium and the free one. In these passes there are coins, Power points, gems, credits, skins and brawlers to unlock! You’ll progress through the pass by just playing the game, doing quests and enjoying its events. Don’t worry about missing out on these because you can actually purchase Brawl pass progress in the store if you’ve been too busy to play.

Brawl stars also have many events that sometimes introduce new game modes for you and your friends to play, such as boss fights!

They also celebrate holidays from around the world, so make sure to tune in around those times to play some limited event modes and get exclusive content!

Updates and feedback

SuperCell is a magnificent developer team when it comes to listening to player feedback, developing new content and implementing solutions. As well as cranking out new stuff on the regular! There are currently 89 brawlers in this game, each with various skins you can get, and, with no sign of stopping, you can rest assured that you’ll never be bored on account of the amount of content you can pour through.

In conclusion

Brawl Stars is a massive game, and it has earned its place among the top of the store with its vast content, friendly community, great visuals and addictive yet rewarding gameplay. It’s not hard to see why people love it, and why you might if you give it a try!
