After starting two Internet companies and eventually selling them to American companies, Chidi Nwaogu<\/strong> and Chika Nwaogu <\/strong>asked themselves, \u201cWhat\u2019s next?<\/em>\u201d This time, they wanted something that is actually solving a problem. They wanted something that will actually challenge them as entrepreneurs. The question remained, \u201cWhat\u2019s the big idea?<\/em>\u201d This question was left unanswered for years. During these years, Chidi wrote a book and his twin brother Chika recorded a song. After writing his book, Chidi began searching for a publisher, and his twin was hunting for a record label.<\/span><\/p>\n

For years, they couldn\u2019t find any who didn\u2019t demand money. Eventually, Chidi became his own publisher, and Chika started a small record label. They were both successful with their projects. Chidi was able to get his book across hundreds of platforms and Chika was able to get his song across hundreds of websites. This was when the question was finally answered.<\/span><\/p>\n

The big idea is \u201cstart a publishing company for struggling Nigerian writers and musicians to get their works seen by the rest of the world.<\/em>\u201d Publiseer <\/strong><\/span>was eventually founded.\u00a0Publiseer is the digital publishing company for the third world.\u00a0Many young and budding authors and artists in Nigeria live on a dollar per day, just as in any third world nation, and thus cannot afford to publish their works by paying for the publishing process. As a result of this, these works remain unpublished for years. Most of these works are breathtaking and many of these authors and artists are exceptionally talented, but their talent is put to waste because they don\u2019t have the money to pay for publishing. That\u2019s what Publiseer was created to do. Publiseer was created to publish these beautiful works for free.<\/span><\/p>\n

The goal is to promote the creativity of Nigerians to the rest of the world, and what better way to do this than to sell the beautiful Nigerian culture to others through written words (using books) and spoken words (using music).<\/span><\/p>\n

Naming the platform was a critical time, and they had so many brilliant names, but they chose the name \u2018Publiseer\u2019, which is a pun on the word \u2018publisher\u2019, and which also means \u2018publish\u2019 in Afrikaans, a language of Southern Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Publiseer, any place is called \u2018office\u2019, because the team works overtime, and during the weekends, publishing books and music, because they are passionate about what we do.<\/span><\/p>\n

When authors and artists are accepted on the platform, Publiseer takes care of every necessary media and publishing work from start to finish. Authors get professional book covers, unique ISBN numbers, worldwide book distribution via online stores like Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Google Play Books, Apple iBooks, and more, press release drafting\/distribution, standard book formatting, and EPUB file conversion for easy distribution.<\/span><\/p>\n

For artists, the expectation\u00a0isn\u2019t less. Songs recorded are distributed across online stores like Spotify, Google Play Music, Apple iTunes, Amazon, Deezer, and Shazam, to mention few. They also get free\u00a0professional cover art,\u00a0unique UPC number, press release drafting\/distribution, and FLAC file conversion for easy distribution. All of these at no cost.<\/span><\/p>\n
