{"id":69757,"date":"2023-07-02T05:43:54","date_gmt":"2023-07-02T05:43:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/startup.info\/?p=69757"},"modified":"2023-08-14T20:57:48","modified_gmt":"2023-08-14T20:57:48","slug":"lovicaecare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bonjouridee.com\/en\/lovicaecare\/","title":{"rendered":"LOVICA : a GPS based mobile application that links patients and their families to doctors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>  <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>LOVICA E-CARE<\/strong> was started by <strong>Hellen Odegi<\/strong> and later invited <strong>Dorcas Odegi.<\/strong>\u00a0The idea came when I (Hellen Odegi) needed urgent after surgery care at home (in Nairobi, Kenya) and could not get any caregiver to come to my house to assist me with my medical needs.\u00a0 I had to go through a painful process of being taken to the hospital almost on a daily basis for over two months for dressing and checkup which otherwise could have been done by a nurse or certified health professional at home.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">During this period I decided to create a solution that will help other patients and make their healing process more comfortable.\u00a0 My goal was to make healthcare services more reachable and more inclusive.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">LOVICA is the name of the online platform and mobile App that we are creating to connect healthcare givers with patients. LOVICA will manage the database of the Healthcare givers ensuring they are vetted and capable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Your products and services\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Our products is a GPS based mobile application that links patients and their families to doctors, nurses, home health caregivers, physiotherapists and other care that can be given at the comfort of their homes or anywhere where help is needed<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Your success factors\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Reaching a target of 10,000\u00a0 users of the mobile application or web application by the end of the 2nd year<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Reducing the number of after surgery re-admissions by giving quality care to surgery patients after hospital stays<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Entering a second market e.g Uganda<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Partnering with government as an alternative to reaching remotely or ill-served areas of the country<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Your factors differentiating and disruptive compared to the existing\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We are introducing an online and smartphone model for getting healthcare services.\u00a0 The application will allow patients to quickly connect to health <\/span>care givers<span style=\"color: #000000;\">. The App is GPS and Location aware App thus dispatch will be quick and the nearest caregivers will be dispatched<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Your business model\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Patients and Service providers will subscribe to the platform and pay a monthly charge as follows :<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In Kenya USD 20 (Kshs 2,000) per visit. This rate was decided after determining that the current Rates per consultation in the preferred hospitals in capital city Nairobi is between Kshs 2,000 to Kshs 3,900.\u00a0 Private consultants charge from Kshs 3,000 and above.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>A few words about your competitors<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Our main competitors are traditional hospitals where patients have to go physically.
