\"\"Phil Gahn<\/strong> is a true visionary, business development leader and not to mention survivor like no other.\u00a0 His story is one that had the potential to cut him off from any kind of future. As a young child, Phil<\/em> witnessed terrible violence and at 8 years old was literally dropped off at a South Korean orphanage door. <\/span><\/p>\n

But Phil<\/em> didn\u2019t let his difficulties stop him; his resilience, strength and determination drove him to work and study hard.\u00a0 He vaguely remembers his father telling him to move to America if he ever got the opportunity. Luckily adopted by an Ohio<\/em> family, Phil thrived in aeronautics and received a scholarship to MIT at 14 years old graduating at 17.\u00a0 Following college, he worked in the intelligence side for 14 years and then the humanitarian side in Africa for 12 years.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While in Africa, Phil<\/em> grew frustrated by how each year $90 billion of humanitarian aid in developing nations never reached those in need. He asked the simple question, why can\u2019t we connect to unconnected populations. He was not afraid to dip his toe in the sand when he set out to do social good. He had a vision of connecting 5 billion unconnected people with an easy-to-use blockchain and mapping solution that leverages the mass adoption of Smartphones. Phil knew that if he could take his technology solution into developing countries, the world would forever be changed. First stop: why not Africa?<\/span><\/p>\n
