She tried getting it to be placed on the Brick &amp; Mortar bookshops in the City of Nairobi but only ended up having one Bookshop accepting to display her book. Most of them said her poetry book was too small to be placed on their bookshops. After doing a small inquiry from among authors in Kenya, we came to understand that they had issues in distributing their books. That&#8217;s when, Abigail&#8217;s boyfriend (Magunga Williams) thought why not try selling it online and see how it goes. Last year 2015 (Mabiria David) built a simple platform to test out the concept and it proofed a success and we decided to launch a full platform to market African Literature.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Your products and services :<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">theMagunga Bookstore. It&#8217;s an Online Market Place for selling African Literature both paperback &amp; eBooks (such as Novels, Poetry, Chapbooks, Anthologies, Short Stories, Children Books, among others). We offer readers a platform to get to order exclusively African Literature and authors a platform to showcase their literature work, market them and eventually make a sale.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Your success factors<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We managed to stock close to 500 African Titles and made sales revenue of over $10,000 in less than a year since launching.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Your factors differentiating and disruptive compared to the existing<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We are exclusively selling African Literature and delivering them to whole world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Your business model (how do you make money?)<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We charge the author or publisher of a book a commission for every book we sell.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>A few words about your competitors<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">They are still focused on selling over the counter &amp; using the Brick &amp; Mortar model.
